Fast bowler Gus Atkinson Adds to the English team's Injury Problems.

'Major setback' for the English camp after Atkinson is forced off due to a hamstring issue.

The pace bowler further complicated the injury concerns plaguing England after leaving the ground on the second morning of the Boxing Day Test in the Ashes series.

Atkinson felt a problem in his left leg post-delivery that he bowled at the MCG.

The touring camp reported Atkinson felt some "soreness" and required time off the field in order to be assessed "during the day".

The final Test in this Ashes battle beginning on 4 January starts on Sunday, 4 January.

England have been without fast bowlers one seamer to a knee injury and another paceman with an abdominal strain during this series.

Matthew Fisher was called up to provide backup.

His form was underwhelming in the opening two Tests, claiming a mere a handful of scalps.

He was left out for the Adelaide match, before being recalled for the Boxing Day match to fill the void.

Atkinson showed better form in Melbourne, claiming a couple of wickets with the ball, before adding 28 as a batsman among just a trio of England players to reach double figures.

After bowling one over at the end of day one, he resumed the next day and removed Scott Boland edging to the keeper.

However, on the final ball of his spell, he bowled a slower ball to the batsman and suddenly grabbed his left hamstring.

Gus Atkinson returned to the side for the fourth Ashes Test having missed of the third.
