Trent Alexander-Arnold's comeback is advancing well, raising hope that the Real Madrid defender could be fit in time to confront his old club Liverpool in November's Champions League match.
The English player suffered a muscle strain during a match against Ligue 1 club Marseille in the group stage of the competition on September 16.
Alexander-Arnold exited the field in the early stages, with early indications indicating a possible layoff of around six weeks.
Real Madrid are set to visit Liverpool on 4 November for the Champions League fixture—just over a month since the incident occurred.
Sources familiar with the player's condition state that the defender's healing process is moving along positively, and there is hope that Alexander-Arnold could make his initial appearance to Liverpool's stadium since moving to Los Blancos in June.
A lifelong Liverpool fan, Alexander-Arnold previously stated that leaving the club he joined as a young academy talent was the "most difficult decision he has ever taken."
During his time with the Merseyside club, Alexander-Arnold notched over 350 appearances, contributing to secure two English top-flight championships, a European Cup, and the FA Cup.
Since moving to the Spanish capital, Alexander-Arnold has played on five occasions in all competitions, accumulating over two and a half hours of game time.
