Nineteen of the Russian's twenty-one titles have been won on hard courts

A revitalized Medvedev secured his initial championship for over two years with victory over Corentin Moutet in the tournament title decider.

The athlete, a ex- number one, has endured a torrid year, achieving just a single victory at the major tournaments and undergoing a meltdown at the US Open.

The player's inconsistency on the ATP Tour - and issues with his serve in particular - resulted in him falling of the world's top 10 and finally splitting with long-time coach Gilles Cervara.

Now collaborating with Thomas Johansson and Goetzke, the tennis star has steadily progressed in the past month - culminating in a hard-fought competitive win over opponent Corentin Moutet.

This marks Medvedev's maiden trophy after the Rome competition and maiden on a hard surface from that period of 2023.

Success also signifies Medvedev has achieved twenty-one victories at twenty-one distinct tournaments.

"For the first time I have attended a event with my both daughters together, so to get a title is really nice," stated tennis professional the champion.

"This victory is in dedication of my child Victoria, because the initial championship I achieved when my child Alisa was delivered was for her."

Medvedev, the past champion, had failed in his past six finals, including in the German tournament earlier this year.

Medvedev's defensive approach and frequent emotional displays on the playing surface had caused commentators to wonder if his ability to compete at the top level was finished.

However the 29-year-old has made changes in the last few weeks, attempting to advance forward and compete aggressively, backed up by an better serve.

He came back from a disadvantage in the initial set against the challenging Moutet, taking 4 of the last five games to take the lead.

The pair swapped break points in the following set before the Frenchman, bidding for his first tour victory, seized the initiative to force a final set.

The opponent saved 4 early-game opportunities in a competitive third set before Medvedev secured a break to 15 to serve for the match.

Suitably, Medvedev secured the win with a shot at the net, with his opponent failing to handle a volley after over two and a half hours.
