Ariana Grande was in Singapore for the international premiere of Wicked: For Good

Loyal followers of the actress are calling for that a man who jumped a barrier and grabbed the performer during Thursday's Wicked: For Good launch be arrested or deported from Singapore.

A widely shared video depicts the person identified as Johnson Wen shoving aside photographers and charging at Grande while the actors made its way down a event pathway surrounded by fans.

Cast member Cynthia Erivo promptly pulled the shocked performer away from Mr Wen, who was observed being escorted out of the premiere by event staff.

Mr Wen posted on Instagram Thursday evening that he was "released after being arrested", though legal records revealed that he was scheduled to attend court on Friday morning. It is uncertain if he was formally accused.

History of Event Invasions

This is not an isolated incident for Mr Wen, who labels himself a "Notorious Troublemaker", has crashed a celebrity gathering. His Instagram feed features recordings of him disturbing other star-studded functions, including jumping on stage at Katy Perry's Sydney show in June this year and in a like fashion during The Chainsmokers event in the city last year.

"Steps should be implemented applied against him as this is obviously a criminal offence," commented an Instagram follower, in a message to a video Mr Wen shared of his behavior.

"You've done this repeatedly... how are you not behind bars?" one Instagram user remarked.

Supporters Show Disapproval Over Grande's Well-being

Numerous supporters accused Mr Wen for "triggering past anxiety" Grande, who had revealed experiencing PTSD after a terrorist explosion at the end of her May 2017 performance in Manchester, claiming the lives of 22 people and injuring many.

"The star has endured numerous terrifying experiences... including the Manchester tragedy, and you believed breaching security was amusing?" said one more response on Instagram.

Several attendees also faulted guards at the Thursday event for not being adequately prepared; while different individuals demanded digital services to block Mr Wen's content.

Reaction and Event Details

In clips spreading on the internet, Grande seemed shocked when she was touched by the individual. Her co-stars Michelle Yeoh and Erivo can be seen reassuring her while Mr Wen was escorted away by guards.

Grande has not commented on the situation, and the rest of the event continued without further issues.

Hundreds of Singapore fans had queued up to greet the actors of Wicked

Many of supporters had congregated in a crowd of colorful attire at the Wicked: For Good Asia-Pacific launch in a Singapore venue, including several who had queued for as long as a significant duration before it began.

The motion picture, to be released on 21 November, is the follow-up of a dual version of the popular theatrical musical Wicked, which centers on the unlikely relationship between two very different sorceresses.

The musical itself is a adaptation of the 1900 children's novel The Wonderful Wizard of Oz.

Grande, who acts as the character Glinda Glinda, was dressed in a rosé sparkling outfit at the event while Erivo, who acts as the Elphaba, wore a sleek black dress embroidered with roses.

They were joined by co-star Jeff Goldblum.

The initial film, Wicked, was the highest-grossing film of the previous year in the UK, and received ten Oscar nominations, earning a pair for excellent wardrobe and artistic direction.
