England footballer Michelle Agyemang, darts prodigy Luke Littler and cricket star Davina Perrin have been named as finalists for the upcoming Young Sports Star of the Year award.

The trio have been honoured for their outstanding achievements over the past 12 months.

Agyemang helped the Lionesses secure Euro 2025, Littler claimed the world title for the very first time, and Perrin rose to fame with a record-breaking innings.

Littler claimed this honour in 2024 after his sensational debut year.

The shortlisted athletes were revealed during a live broadcast on a popular morning radio program.

The 2025 recipient will be revealed live on the prestigious sports ceremony show on the 18th of December.

The ceremony will be broadcast from 19:00 GMT.

The Football Star

Age: 19 Sport: Football

Just three months after her first cap for her country, Agyemang played a pivotal and thrilling role in England's run to European Championship victory.

She was introduced as a substitute to score crucial late equalisers in both the quarter-final and semi-final.

These match-saving moments led to her being named Young Player of the Tournament.

Later in the year, she was awarded the Golden Girl award for the finest emerging star on the continent.

She was also in contention for the Kopa Trophy for the global standout among U21 women.

Agyemang, who has been playing for Brighton on loan from Arsenal, suffered an ACL injury in October.

"Being on the shortlist for this award is a privilege," said Agyemang. "Thank you to God and I'm grateful for the support I've received from my loved ones, mentors, colleagues and supporters."

Luke Littler

Age: 18 Sport: Darts

Littler kicked off the year in spectacular fashion as - while still 17 - he became the most youthful world title winner in history.

He secured a comprehensive triumph over Michael van Gerwen in the final.

His follow-up triumph at the World Matchplay made him only the fifth competitor to complete the prestigious PDC Triple Crown.

He didn't stop there - his win in November's Grand Slam of Darts meant he climbed to world number one for the first time.

At 18, he is the earliest achiever to do so, breaking the previous record.

"Being nominated for this award again is a huge privilege," stated Littler. "My victory in 2024 was a special memory for me and I've had another unbelievable 12 months. I want to continue raising the profile of darts."

The Cricket Sensation

Age: 19 Sport: Cricket

Perrin is one of English cricket's top prospects and burst into the spotlight with an extraordinary and record-breaking innings in August.

Her brilliant 42-ball century in The Hundred is the fastest by an English woman in T20s.

It also stands as the equal third-quickest women's T20 century in a top-tier competition.

Perrin finished second in the season's run tally and was named PCA Women's Young Player of the Year.

"I'm deeply humbled to be named a finalist for the Young Sports Star award," expressed Perrin. "This is phenomenal. I hope it motivates more young women to get into cricket."
