Ways these Denver Broncos together with their 'play-dough' QB can end the Kansas City Chiefs' rule.

NFL 2025 season: Week six
Live coverage includes text commentary for the weekend matchups on multiple platforms, beginning with Denver Broncos v New York Jets at Tottenham (from 14:00 BST). Additionally, radio commentary is available through select stations covering another key matchup (beginning at 9 PM BST).
It's week six of the football calendar , following last week's talk about two top teams being a potential Super Bowl match-up, they both surrendered their unbeaten records.
Striking during those contests was the amount of infractions each committed. Philadelphia committed them in key moments so they essentially defeated themselves after leading 17-3 entering the fourth period against Denver, who play overseas this Sunday.
However it proved positive to observe that Denver's QB Bo Nix managed to have that deficit and then lead three successful possessions in three attempts in the fourth quarter, securing the game by four points.
Denver boast the top defender with CB their star corner. They rank first in goal-line defense, whereas Philadelphia are number one in red zone offence, and Denver prevailed in that contest.
They had effective strategies regarding simulated pressure. They weren't always rushing extra pass rushers but they might plug two linebackers in the interior then withdrawing them and send a slot defender from the outside.
At the start of the season, we said on a program how the Broncos could be this season's surprise contenders. They finished the previous year well then did a good job of building upon that.
Are the Denver Broncos this year's underdog story?
Recently acquired tight end Evan Engram has excelled big while recent RB their rusher is a guy the team trusts. He's currently 5th in the NFL for rushing yards (402) as well as tied for fourth in rushing scores (four).
I love that the coach Sean Payton has "RUN IT!" at the top of his playcall sheet.
This demonstrates how the Broncos are a team aiming to prioritize the run, because one can do a lot based on that approach. It reduces opposing rushes and keeps you in favourable situations.
This has benefited QB Bo Nix, who came the NFL as a first-round selection in the prior draft, throwing 29 touchdown passes – second only to Justin Herbert in rookie records (31 back in 2020).
Josh Allen and Herbert have the arm strength to throw all over, however they don't move in the same way that Nix has. He boasts exceptional passing ability, which is different, plus he is so athletic.
His assets are his mobility, being able to throw on the run, as well as using varied release points to deliver throws when he rolls outside protection, the bootlegs. He is able to throw that layered pass across the middle or past defenders.
For a young quarterback, aged 25, he displays a lot of poise in the pocket and isn't really fazed by extra rushers. He aims to evade being tackled as much as possible and is able pass in tight spots. He possesses sharp intelligence and remains very decisive.
When you constantly run the ball it eats up time and makes the defence to stay on the field extended periods, and when you've got an athletic quarterback the defence must defend the field downfield side to side. It can be exhausting.
The quarterback has pushed back at Payton during games sometimes and I think the coach appreciates that fire, seeing him as such a competitor. I think it's exciting for him to coach a young quarterback who's similar to moldable clay. He can really build something up the way he wants to shape him. I think it's a special experience for him.
Payton has won a Super Bowl and now surpassed a legend for career NFL wins (173, tying for 14th). He has witnessed everything. In my opinion the achievements the Broncos are experiencing on offence is mostly down to his guidance, his play-calling, his situational awareness – and the pairing with the QB aids make him what he is.
You wouldn't want a better guy guiding you, to help you during some of the tougher situations and build confidence.
I have faith in the Broncos' defense, in Bo Nix's tenacity and composure. But are they good enough to go against a top squad at its best? Because that wasn't championship-level play from Philadelphia last Sunday.
Right now, it's unlikely the Broncos are elite. They're working above average, that's a good place to hold the AFC West. All they need to do to continue this path.
They excel at leaning into their forte, that is the ground game, and this is exactly what they should do versus the Jets at Tottenham. It's going to be a Dobbins-focused game, essentially.
New York have allowed 140 rushing yards per game (among the worst), five rushing touchdowns this season (10th worst), and they are the sole squad without a win a game.
Ever since the NFL started recording takeaways in 1933, this team are also the first team to go without any turnovers in five outings, which is surprising when you think that the head coach was previously a defensive coach with another team.
The Chiefs' QB says the Chiefs are off to a poor start after a recent loss by the Jaguars.
Following the upcoming matchup, the Broncos face a manageable slate up to their break (in week twelve) - the New York Giants, the Cowboys, Houston Texans plus Las Vegas Raiders before the Chiefs.
In their division, the Chiefs are 2-3 and the Broncos are tied with the Chargers at 3-2 meaning they could challenge for the top of the division.
This hinges upon which form Kansas City shows up they meet since Denver {beat|def
